Some info for those who
are interested in applying for internship or similar collaboration.
We are receiving some application request for
cooperating in researches in various fields, among which signal
processing and communications. We are very glad of this
consideration, but we would like to clarify some topic before any
application would be filed to us.
First of all, this department belongs to a Music
Conservatory, not to a Technology University. As a consequence,
every activity we made is tightly connected to art and music, and
this applies to research activities too. So we cannot consider
applications which are not strongly directly motivated from a
musical point of view, even by itself interesting or full of
potential indirect fall-out in art applications.
Furthermore, the current status of Italian
Conservatories is recent, their role in Artistic and Technological
Research being just at the beginning. As a consequence, we will be
very interested in considering any proposal lying inside the above
mentioned framework, but in this case you will be patient because at
present there are no consolidated paths inside the Institution for
such applications, and the solution of the associated problems
(economics, logistic, etc.) will require some delay.
We submit these considerations not for the sake of
discouraging proposals – that are on the contrary strongly
encouraged - but in order to suggest that proposals must be
submitted very early, as soon as possible. Any delay can be fatal
for your application to succeed.
