Michelangelo Lupone

Biography:

He finished his musical studies with Domenico Guaccero and Giorgio Nottoli. His musical production includes instrumental works and electronic music. Together with the composition activity, he has developed researches in musical and scientific topics. He is the artistic director of the CRM (Center for Musical Resarch) in Rome, and he is cofounder and collaborator of the institute Gramma in L'Aquila - Italy. His musical production in its entirety shows a particular attention to both the linguistic and technological creativity. He has developed new performing techniques for traditional instruments and has designed the systems for digital sound synthesis Fly10 (L. Bianchini, 1983), Fly30 (A. Pellecchia, 1989), the systems for auralization "Planephones" (G. Ruspa, 1997), "Waveguides and reflectors screens" (M.C. De Amicis, 1998), "Olophones" (1999), that he uses for the composition and the performance of his works. Among the most recent works: "Metal string" (Kronos Quartet) based on the physical model of the string and the bow (M. Palumbi, L. Seno, 1997), "Bass Drum" (A. Tomassetti, 1999), "Phases" (R. Parisi, 1996), "Contrapunctus" (Bernini Quartet , 1999). From 1980 he teaches Electronic Music at the L'Aquila Conservatory. From 1996 he is member of the scientific and artistic board of the Cemat.
